Freely Speaking Audio Devotion

Apr 24, 2024    Tyla Yauk

Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.

Tyla Yauk writes today’s devotion. “For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Galatians 5:14 NLT).

Why do we do what we do? This is the unanswered question of humanity. We may try to understand why, but often, our actions cause confusion and trauma due to our unfounded beliefs or lack of knowledge.

Taking accountability for our actions can change the outcome and lead to less chaos and more peace. This sounds great, right? Did you know this process can change and affect the relationships around you for the better?

I love the scripture in Galatians 5:14 because it has brought me much peace and reassurance that healthy relationships are possible. If we do the work to lead our lives in love, take accountability for our unloving actions, and love our neighbors as ourselves, all the commandments are fulfilled. How liberating is that?

When I think about the difficult relationships around me, I realize that I can change my actions and possibly the dynamics of those relationships.

When we treat others with love, dignity, and respect through the Holy Spirit's strength and scripture's guidance, we learn to live by Jesus’ example. This will help us establish a healthy relationship with the Father and receive the power and help needed in the most challenging relationships.

Let’s keep it simple by obeying this command and see what the power of the Holy Spirit can do!

Consider the difficulties you have experienced in relationships. What are some areas you feel need change?
