Freely Speaking Audio Devotion

Jun 12, 2024    Sarah Goff

Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.

Today’s devotion was written by Sarah Goff.

“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one in Spirit and one in mind” (Philippians 2:1-2 NIV).

God has a plan for us, and it is our responsibility to become the person He wants us to be to fulfill His purpose. As we walk with Him on this journey, we will be led toward people and opportunities that enable us to share His love and lead others to salvation.

Because of my lung condition, I always prefer to sit at the back in the doctor's office waiting room. During my recent visit, I noticed a beautiful young woman sitting in the same area. I couldn't help but wonder if there was a specific reason for her choosing to sit so far back. Was she also experiencing discomfort or simply shy? To be honest, I thought she may have experienced hate during the pandemic due to her culture.

As I was lost in thought, I suddenly felt a strong and overwhelming presence of the Lord telling me to go to her. When my name was called, I approached her and said, "You are so beautiful.” She smiled back and thanked me for the compliment. Continuing, I felt an undeniable impulse to turn back and place a cross bracelet on her arm. She stood up and gave me a warm and accepting hug. I continue to pray that she feels God's presence and knows Christ's love for her.

Ever since that day, I have been praying over cross bracelets and sharing them with others. My mission is to spread the love of Jesus Christ so that people accept His sacrifice on the cross for our sins. When we treat others with kindness and compassion, we demonstrate that we have accepted His gift and live our lives for Him.

What is something God whispered in your ear that opened a door to share your faith?
