Freely Speaking Audio Devotion
Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.
Today’s devotion was written by Sarah Goff.
Our scripture reading is from John 14:26-27 (NIV), "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid."
Have you ever imagined your prayers traveling up to heaven and the Holy Spirit personally delivering them to God on your behalf?
Scripture teaches us that the Holy Spirit intercedes in prayer for us, aligning our requests with God's will and transforming our minds so that we can begin thinking and praying according to God's plan and character.
A few Sundays ago, a friend knelt beside me at church, saying, "I felt an overwhelming feeling that the Holy Spirit wanted me to come over and pray for you." With tears, she said, "I love you, and I wanted you to know that."
Only God knew I called a prayer Hotline the day before. What a powerful confirmation that the Holy Spirit was with me, bringing my concerns before God. I am grateful that He sees everything we go through.
In John 14, Christ reassures us that He doesn't want our hearts to be troubled or afraid. Instead, He wants us to experience His peace.
Christ has not left us alone; He has given us a direct line to God through the Holy Spirit to advocate for us. The Holy Spirit takes our prayers to God and aligns us with God's plan. He also sends others to comfort, encourage, and pray for us.
Consider how God can use you to bring His peace to others by the power of His Holy Spirit.
