Freely Speaking Audio Devotion
Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.
Today, Susan Hales shares how God prepared her to be a writer.
Our scripture is from Mark 12:30 (NIV): “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
When God told me to be a writer, I replied, “God, you’ve got the wrong person!” I had a lot of questions. Did God really say that? How do I start, and what will I write?
Have you ever experienced God’s call to something you felt unequipped for?
Moses had all kinds of excuses and self-doubt when God commanded him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. But he obeyed and was successful despite his fears.
Once the Israelites were in the wilderness, God gave Moses detailed instructions for building the Tabernacle, a sanctuary where the Israelites could meet and worship God.
How did former slaves know how to build an intricate portable house for God? We find the answer in Scripture, “The Lord has gifted Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled craftsmen with wisdom and ability to perform any task involved in building the sanctuary. Let them construct and furnish the Tabernacle, just as the Lord has commanded” (Exodus 36:1 NLT).
Just like God prepared the builders of the Tabernacle, He gives ordinary people like you and me the wisdom and abilities to implement His plans in His power and strength.
I realized God prepared me to write my blog and pursue my wellness ministry. He provided people and resources to help me learn and grow, not in my strength but in His.
God has a perfect plan just for you. Don’t worry if you lack the skills. Remember, God has a purpose and plan for everyone and provides everything you need to complete His mission.
