Freely Speaking Audio Devotion

Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.

Today, Darla Czeropski shares her thoughts on how loving God with all your heart can help you discover your God-given mission.

Our scripture is from Mark 12:30 (NIV): “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

Today’s focus scripture is from Ephesians 5:8 (TPT):

”Once your life was full of sin’s darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light!”

What is your God-given mission? This question always causes me difficulty because I wear so many hats and fulfill many duties for family, ministry, and others beyond my circle of influence.

When the Apostle Paul wrote the focus verse in Ephesians, he wasn’t discussing what we “do” in our mission. He was addressing and reminding the children of God about their identity.

In the first part of Ephesians 5, Paul commands us to imitate God because we are His dear children. Jesus offered Himself as a sacrifice in our place so we could accept and assume our God-given birthright, a position in God's family.

Living in our calling as children of God is a daily, deliberate choice. We are called to “live as children flooded with His revelation-light.”

It’s important to remember that we may be stationed in a dark world, but He positioned us to live in His light.

Yes, I know this can seem like a daunting task. Becoming like Jesus, especially in this world, can’t be accomplished independently. God made provisions for us. By imitating God through observing the life of Jesus and following His steps, we receive power from His Holy Spirit to be an overcomer.

If you accept it, your mission is to love God with all your heart, love the person He created you to be, and share His love with others; you are positioned to house the light of Christ, an undying flame within you! His Holy Spirit fuels you to be a beacon to a dying world. He surrounds you with the same power that lifted Jesus out of a dark grave, a power that resides in you!

How does remembering that Jesus wants you to live in His light help you fulfill your mission in this dark world?
