Freely Speaking Audio Devotion

Apr 1, 2025    Liz'a Biswell

Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.

Today’s devotion was written by Liz’a Biswell.

“The LORD is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18 ESV).

The greatest miracle of my life came at a very dark time. I lost a child. I was physically, mentally, and spiritually debilitated.

I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I blamed myself. I tried seeking God’s comfort but couldn’t find it. I was angry and even suicidal.

On the day I decided to end my suffering, I fell to my knees and cried out to God. “Where are You?” I cried and shouted that I could not handle this heartbreak. I demanded, “God, if You are real, You must show me!”

Suddenly, I was surrounded by wind. It was like a tornado, pulling at my hair and my clothes. I looked around, yet saw no movement in the trees. My body felt light as I stood to my feet. My arms lifted as the wind swirled around me. I smiled and cried

tears of joy.

This experience removed any doubt I had in God. Psalm 34:18 has been very special to me since that day. It reminds me that God sees me. He loves me. He is always with me, even in the depths of my despair.

Miracles are easy to see in beautiful things. Some miracles come in our darkest moments when they are harder to recognize, but when we seek God, He shows up.

Do you seek Him only in good times? Or maybe you, like I once did, only seek Him when things are hard. I encourage you to invite God into every moment of your life.

Spend time today meditating and reflecting on the miracles in your life. Consider the areas you have not allowed God to enter and open those doors to Him. There is nothing too big or too small to give to God.
