Our verse for today is found in Matthew 9:28,29 (ESV) ‘”When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”’

Have you ever witnessed the miraculous restoration of sight? I confess, I have not. Yet, I have observed subtle miracles, where God quietly orchestrates inexplicable events. These miracles often go unnoticed, dismissed as mere coincidences. In this way, we risk becoming spiritually blind, unable to perceive the divine in the ordinary.

I recall a time when I chose to see the miracle in front of me. My daughter went into early labor on a bitterly cold December night. As I pulled into the hospital, my car started sputtering. I had not even looked at the gas gauge before leaving home. I coasted into a parking spot, thinking I would deal with this later.

Hours later, as I left the hospital, I wasn’t expecting the car to start. I turned the key, and to my surprise, it started. Not only did it start, but the gauge showed over half a tank of gas. I went from empty to almost full. “Thank you, Jesus.”

In our scripture today, we find two blind men running after Jesus. They follow Him into a house, crying out for a miracle. Jesus asked, “Do you believe I can do this?” “Yes”, they replied. Jesus touched their eyes, and because of their faith, they could now see.

How often have you asked for a miracle but lacked faith, never seeing it come to pass? I have. What if we ran blindly after Jesus with the kind of faith these men had? What would Jesus open our eyes to see?

I could have explained away how my car went from empty to almost full. Instead, I chose to see the miracle. When you are running on empty and can’t see, blindly run after Jesus! Allow Him to fill your tank and give you sight to see the miracles.
