Freely Speaking Audio Devotion
Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.
Today’s devotion was written by Kate Dreston.
“For with God nothing will be impossible” Luke 1:37 (NKJV).
Opening her kitchen cabinets one by one, Sheri searched for anything she could fix for her children’s supper.
Surely, I can find something. Doesn’t God care? I’m trying my best.
The food bank wasn’t open for another few days, and her refrigerator shelves were as bare as her cabinets. Sheri fought back tears as a feeling of defeat created a weight on her chest.
The doorbell rang as she tried to figure out how to tell her kids they’d have to skip supper. By the time she got to the door, no one was there, but a box had been left.
This time, tears of joy came when she read the note: “The Lord told me to drop this by tonight, God bless.” The box contained enough canned soup, crackers, and fresh fruit to last until the food bank opened.
Have you ever had a miracle happen in your life?
Exodus, Chapter 16, lays out God’s miraculous food provision for the Israelites while traveling through the wilderness. They were exasperated because they didn’t have enough food. God heard their cries and provided for their needs.
God gave them manna. This was a special food just for the Israelites. It would appear like a layer of dew on the ground every morning and disappear in the afternoon. God also provided meat every evening.
This provision of food and nourishment was nothing they could do on their own. It was a miracle and a gift from God.
God continues to be our Provider. He knows our circumstances and exactly what we need. Not only does He provide for our physical needs, but our spiritual needs as well.
Too often, we only look at things from our perspective and decide what is possible or impossible.
As Luke 1:37 points out, nothing is impossible for God.
If you face an impossible situation today, remember God is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Have faith; He can bring miracles to your life!
