Giving is when you freely transfer something to someone other than yourself. However, God’s Word gives us an example of what the giver’s heart should look like.
2 Corinthians 8:7 (MSB) says, “Just as you excel in everything, in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us---see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” Graceful giving is freely devoting, setting aside, or sacrificing for a higher purpose.
We give freely without thought or regret when we give with Godly purpose. When we give with Godly purpose, we dig deeper into the resources He has given us to better meet the needs around us. When we offer all we have with Godly purpose, the reward is found in the blessing it brings to others and the glory it brings to our Heavenly Father. This is the reflection of the grace of giving.
Reaching this attitude of the heart for giving develops over time as we grow in our relationship with Christ. I have learned to live this way through my parents’ example for my siblings and me. They give graciously in all aspects of life. Not only do they give sacrificially above their tithe, but they also serve tirelessly in all aspects of the church using their time and talents. Watching my parents serve the Lord and seeing how richly it has blessed their lives has created a heart for giving in me.
Whether it is wealth, time, service, or attitude, our perspective shifts to God’s grace when we give with a grace-filled heart. Will you stand with me and ask God to give us hearts that will devote all we have to God’s greater purpose? Let’s give gracefully!

Loved your thoughts on graceful giving! Thank you for sharing!
I too learned from my parents and I know your parents, so I can totally see how they were a great example for you! I also know that your giving heart is a choice and yes, it is reflected by your relationship with Christ!
Count it a huge blessing that you had parents that modeled that giving heart for you. Thank
you for mentioning that God can give you that heart as well when we change our perspective. He is the ultimate giver!
Loved this Andi, giving with a grace filled â¤ï¸. Thank you for sharing
It is so true that that when you give with Godly intentions it is so meaningful to God and to you!!! Your family has been very blessed with the example of Godly Parents!! Wonderful people!!!💜💜💜
So proud of you Andi! I have had the privilege of your Godly insight for years and am so excited to see you step out in faith and share what the Lord leads in this group!
Thank you for your wise words about giving, Andi. It made me think about my mom and dad. They were always serving people and outside the church. They went on many mission trips to Haiti and Mexico. My dad built churches and orphanages and my mom taught the children and helped medical teams. They set a wonderful example for me and my siblings.
I love your sweet insight about giving! And yes, you have been so blessed to have Godly parents. I've learned from them as well! Thank you for sharing your heart. You are such a blessing. 💜
