Do you believe all scripture has a purpose and place in our lives? Knowing that each word of scripture was written and God-breathed for a specific intention should make His word more sacred to us. What bible verse means the most to you?
Choosing a favorite verse was difficult because so many different ones have touched me through my life journey. There have been verses that were for encouragement and instruction, as well as conviction and correction. All of which have a specific purpose and time that were most significant to me. This struggle to narrow it down to one favorite verse revealed how much scripture means in my walk as a Christian woman.
I chose a verse in Micah 6:8 (NIV) that says, “And He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and walk humbly with your God.” This verse encompasses how God would ask that we live our daily lives. It is straightforward. I think we sometimes make our mission of following Jesus too complicated. God requires us to simply love others in this way.
This verse in Micah calls us to act justly or honorably. Meaning everything about who we are should bring honor to who God is. Our words, our actions, our decisions, all of it should be set apart. We also are called to show mercy to others. Our hearts should overflow with love for all of God’s people. Those that are easy to love and, even more so, those that are difficult. Our hearts should see others the way God sees them and love them the same. To find success in this, we must humble ourselves before God. When we put ourselves second and seek only His will, being what God called us to be is easy.
I challenge you to search scripture for your favorite verse and journal about what it means to you. I believe God will speak directly to you in just the way you need today.

Andi, I've long adopted the view that every word in the Bible holds a message for those who read tHods Word! I agree that there are scriptures which convict, edify and bring wisdom. God's Word is a rich resource of truth and guidance. It is the only reliable source of truth I know.
The only reliable source!
