Do you know someone that is continually busy? Are they constantly going or doing something until they fall into bed exhausted? Is this you?
Many times, I will keep myself busy on purpose. My emotions tend to take over. Instead of saying something I will regret later, I purposely make myself busy, cleaning or doing laundry, whatever will take my mind off the situation and calm my emotions.
Often, at work, I am extremely busy doing many things, handling the issues that flare up, and writing policies and procedures. Those days seem to pass fast, and I wonder where the day has gone.
These are just two examples of the busyness in my life. Life is busy. Is staying busy a way to avoid things, thoughts, or people? Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV) says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
The advancement of the digital age that we live in should have made life easier for us. Instead, we are busier. We fill up our “free” time with activities, such as social media, television, movies, etc. We are beings created to worship our Father God. If we are continually busy until we are exhausted, when do we give God His time in our life? We must take care of ourselves and purposely set time aside for rest. Rest in Him! Jesus showed us by example in Mark 6:31 (ESV), “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.”
Keeping that balance between busyness and rest can be challenging! I start my day with daily bible reading and tune my radio station to Christian music. I also stay connected with Christian women through OHSOFREE ministries. This helps keep me on track. I challenge you to find your rest time and stay connected.

Thank you Lisa! It is a balance between busyness and rest. Often we neglect our time to rest and recharge. What happens when you don't charge up your phone? It won't work! We need time to connect to God and recharge our batteries.
