Each of us has a purpose. God has designed you with a purpose that will fit into His plan. It is not a sin to be successful. Why not be successful in your calling or purpose?
We have the benefit of the whole Bible, where we can read all the stories of biblical characters we may have heard about growing up. Jesus called people to follow him, to fulfill God’s purpose. For example, two brothers named Simon Peter and Andrew were fishermen. In the book of Matthew, it says: “While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men’’’(Matthew 4:18-19 ESV).
These two brothers were fishing like their father before them. Jesus came along and told them to follow him and become fishers of men! Simon Peter and Andrew did just that with no hesitation and no question; they just turned and followed the Rabbi. Had they not followed Jesus, we would not know them or their stories. Many lives would have gone unchanged.
Do you sense God calling you? How many lives could be changed by the seeds you plant or water? I encourage you to pray and seek God’s will, to find your purpose in Him. Remember, nothing is impossible with God, just as Matthew tells us.
“… For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” Matthew 17:20-21(ESV).
