What has caused you pain in this life? Not just physical pain, but a deep agonizing, gnawing discomfort. Have you ever been there? Are you experiencing that degree of pain today? It is that type of pain that can leave one bent over.
If you feel bent over today, I would like to introduce you to a nameless woman in (Luke 13:10-13 NIV). This unnamed woman had spent 18 years afflicted, crippled by a spirit, and as a result, she was bent over! She had spent 18 years bent, unable to stand up straight. Imagine her viewpoint. Her posture restricted her to only viewing the ground. No lush trees, smiling faces, beautiful sunsets, or night skies, only the ground. Sadly, life can also leave us bent and change our viewpoint. Life circumstances can alter our posture and cause us to miss the beauty all around us.
However, this all changed on the day this nameless woman encountered Jesus. Jesus saw her! I’m unsure if she could see Jesus in her bent-over state, but Jesus saw her! And even if your current circumstances or struggles have you bent and struggling to see Jesus, he sees you! (Luke 13:12-13 NIV) declares, “’ When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, ‘Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.’ Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.”
She was now free! She found freedom in Jesus! And her response was to praise him. And here’s the exciting news: Jesus is still offering freedom! Whatever pain or affliction you suffer, we pray that you find freedom in Jesus. If you have already found freedom in Christ, please reflect on it and share it in the comments.

This was always o e of the most beautiful stories for me in the Bible! The faith this women had to just touch Jesus and she would be healed!! Love your post!!💜💜💜
Thank you, Shayla. This story always moves me to tears because of a personal connection. I can so easily visualise myself in that story. I have often prayed in desperation, "If only I could touch your hem, Jesus." Her faith found her experiencing freedom. Such a blessing.
