It was such a busy day. I returned home from errands, intending only to drop something off and head out again to help my aging parents. However, one of my perennial daisy flower bushes caught my eye, making me pause. There were many spent flowers mixed in with the lovely ones. An analogy came to mind, bringing a smile. I slowly and carefully plucked off each dead or dying little flower. This task allows the plant to thrive as all its energy can be focused on the younger blooms.
Isn’t this the same way God works in our lives to perfect us so that we can become more Christ-like? The Bible uses many metaphors to describe this very thing. God uses life’s challenges and trials to refine and strengthen us as individuals. The Bible teaches us important lessons about spiritual growth and transformation.
Zechariah 13:9 (ESV) says, “And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
Lord, thank you for slowing me down today by catching my attention with daisies. Refine me, I pray. Pluck the ruined and bad parts from my soul, as I do with my flowers. Make me beautiful in your sight; make me more like You as You walk with me through life’s challenges. Thank You, Father!

Karen, what a beautiful example of how God removes the things holding us back from being all he wants us to be. Love this💜
This is exactly how God works in our lives getting rid of what is dead and filling us with new life in him. God allowed you to see us as his children in that flower. He reminds us to take an inventory of what is dying and blooming in us. He is so protective and wants only the best for us, giving us something as simple as a daisy to keep us focused on him! And who he wants us to be in him!💜💜💜
