I can recall God’s love as a child through his beautiful creation. I remember the joy of regrowth in the springtime. The feeling of a warm breeze after a cold winter. The popping of flowers, especially tulips in multiple colors. The birds sang as they made their nests.
At six, I was excited when a robin made a nest on the window sill in an upstairs bedroom. What joy I experienced watching the momma bird sitting on her eggs. I ran up those stairs daily to see if baby birds had hatched while I was away. The day finally came, the eggs had hatched, and these tiny hairless baby birds appeared. I watched as the momma bird cared for them until the day came when they were gone.
If we want to feel joy like we did as a child, we must experience regrowth during certain seasons. God wants us to take the time to see what is blossoming and what is weathering in us. We must let certain things go to allow a place for growth. We can’t allow ourselves to get so weighed down that we no longer see the flowers, the birds, and all of God’s Creation. We may have to let things or people go to live the life of joy Christ wants for us.
Will it be hard to make the needed changes? I am sure it wasn’t easy for that mother bird to watch her babies leave, but she knew it had to happen. God gives all His creation the knowledge that we must move forward. What would have happened if those baby birds had stayed in the nest?
Are there things or people stealing the joy God wants for you? Let’s all strive to achieve complete joy in Christ. “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10 NIV). We must trust the Lord and make the necessary changes.

Sarah, I had tears streaming down my cheeks as I read your beautiful offering. It speaks to a season I am passing through. Beautifully said.
I tried sending a message to you but it didn't show up I put it in Susan's I think. Anyway, I think if you so often and I want you to know that you are doing such a great job with Al. The love shows so greatly. I pray that God will show you joy in all your life experiences. You are a beautiful butterfly changing with as your life changes. 💜💜💜
Thank you Sarah for such a wonderful post. Maybe it's because this year is a landmark birthday for me, but I have been thinking about the future and where I want to live the rest of my life. Or maybe it's because my neighbors are moving. It's overwhelming to think of moving, but I am praying for the Lord's wisdom to show me where he wants me to be.
I was just thinking that who you look so beautiful in your post the other day. What ever decision you make I know that God will turn it for your good! This stage of life of life is hard but we are not done yet! Your doing amazing things so keep your eyes looking up!!! 💜💜💜
Debbie you have such a kind heart. I think if you often and I know times are hard for you. I pray that God will show you joy through the struggle. You picked a beautiful butterfly film for your door with butterflies. We're all changing we just have to continue to love ourselves during the change.
