It's worth reflecting on the impact busyness has on our lives and our relationship with God. Often, we find ourselves caught up in the activities of day-to-day life, neglecting the essential aspects of our lives. Unfortunately, we sacrifice precious moments we could have spent with God, family, and friends to keep up with household chores and other pressing demands.
The theme for this month had a significant impact on me. With visitors coming in July, I have been preoccupied with preparations, causing me to neglect my devotion to God and my card ministry. Upon realizing that the topic was busyness, I stopped to reflect on how I prioritized less important things. Recently, I started the OHSOFREE Bible study (Summer Scripture Fun Study) on journaling scripture and placing yourself within it, which helped me refocus and memorize a verse that I would like to share with you.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 NIV).
It had been a while since I last memorized scripture, but doing so was very fulfilling. I am grateful for our ministry's provision of study opportunities, which allow me to continue to deepen my relationship with God. After dedicating an hour of my time, I gained a fresh perspective on studying the word of God. At times, it's essential to take a step back and reflect on our priorities, evaluating how they impact our overall quality of life and our relationship with Christ.
Today became hectic, and I began to feel overwhelmed until I came across a post that reminded me to trust in God's timing and take a break. The post suggested that God encourages us to rest and stop worrying, and if we prioritize Him, He will guide us through the day. Have you found that busyness has interfered with your time with God? How do you prioritize your relationship with Him?

Sarah, I am so glad our summer scripture study helped you focus on God's word! I agree, it's easy to get distracted by our daily tasks and then we put aside our daily quiet time with the Lord. Making it a habit is so important. They call it habit stacking, where you associate one habit with another. I have found that I associate my first cup of coffee in the morning with reading God's word, even if it's for that short period of time. It really helps!
Sarah, this warmed my heart and I valued your reflection and encouragement. I loved our Summer Scripture Study too and use the tools we learned often! I'm now memorising Scripture where I used to find it so hard. You are right that we need to prioritise time with God. Bless you!
I remember a church I went to with my children had the kids memorize scripture for prizes!! I thought it was wonder!!â¤ï¸
Scripture always helps to refocus me as well. It is an anchor when I'm drowning in life and it's busyness. So thankful for God's word that He so graciously gives us in His perfect timing.
There is so much peace in Gods word!!
Sarah
